Circa Waves

This was the first time we had attended a gig at the Riverside in Newcastle and what a first time it was. Circa Waves were supported by RatBoy and Gengar, who both stood out as bands to watch on the bigger scene in months to come.
Kieran, Colin, Sam and Joe all took to the stage to what was a deafening roar of acknowledgement. The crowd were expecting a performance, the liverpudlian foursome certainly did that and more.
From the first strum of the guitar, all four members of the band and the audience had possibly the best gig they have put on/attended. With the first album just been released over a week before this gig, the fans certainly showed to themselves and Circa Waves why this band are destined for the biggest stages possible, with every song being sung back to the band. All four of Circa Waves fed off the atmosphere which the crowd created.
Circa Waves performed all their debut album 'Young Chasers', which is what everyone truly wanted, throwing in the added bonus of tracks '100 Strangers' and '101'. Circa Waves blew everyone away with their performance and their ability to play live is certainly a natural talent which many artists wish they had.
Even the stage set up for the band was suitable to them with big flashlights from either side of the stage beaming across the stage, making sure the spotlight was certainly on the band at all times, they didn't shy away from it.
Overall, Circa Waves are a band who are set to go places and it's only going to get better for the band. We loved their set at Riverside in Newcastle and we certainly can't wait to see them hit the road again later on this year.
